Vanguard Brokerage Option

Anyone have any comments concerning how it compares to other trading platforms or their experiences using it so far?

You are kidding right?

Hate to sound harsh, but did you read the contract you voted on in addition to the emails and mailings you have tecieved about this subject post signing?

No I'm not kidding. When I look at my vanguard account I see the same choices I've always seen. I'm assuming there is a phase in date. But thank you for your thoughtful response.

Sorry but it I find it strange/sad that you do not know the contract that you voted for.

Maybe you should read it and the other info that was sent to you about the changes to your Vanguard account. Just like the idiot who is part of the lawsuit that said he would not have voted yes if he knew what it really said. YGTBSM - read the agreement!!

So you're going to play "I've got a secret, read the effing contract?" Nice. What great culture we have here.

Second, I don't think the plaintiff in the lawsuit said he would have voted no had he known. The plaintiff knew and warned the union. The union ignored his interpretation of the TA language. Now a jury is going to decide who was correct.

In January you should have received a packet from Vanguard titled "2015 Pilot Collective Bargaining Agreement Changes Newsletter." Inside is an easy to read packet which explains the changes and new options available.

The OP was referring to the new Vanguard Brokerage Option which allows you to open an account with Vanguard Brokerage Services and invest a portion of your Pilots' Retirement Savings Plan (PRSP) balance in other investments from Vanguard and other companies that are not included in the core or supplemental investment options.

Maybe he didn't vote for it. Sadly not everyone is as educated on the contract or Vanguard as you.

The "Packet" is available online. Log into your vanguard account. Under "Plan Details" dropdown, there is a "Plan Communications" option. You can download the info from the link.

Read the lawsuit, there are 4 plaintiffs.

"For instance, Plaintiff Castroverde, who will be retiring in 2017, voted in favor of the Tentative Agreement largely due to the prospect of receiving the maximum Sick Leave Buyback represented by Binder. However, since he plans to retire in 2017, he will thus not be eligible for the “maximum” value represented by Binder. Had he been aware of the true nature of the Sick Leave Buyback, he would have rejected the Tentative Agreement."

Maybe he should have read the TA.

As to your other comment it's not a secret, it's in the contract. Same one that describes the sick buyback to this moron.

Are either of you the Captain that swore to me prior to the TA we had a cash over cap? I had to educate him that it was his sick buyback was the check that he was receiving and he still didn't believe me.

Read and know your contract - SMH
