757/767

757/767 Letter is out. I have a May 14, 2018 Captain class. Send me a PM if you want to trade. I would like to go the beginning of 2018.

FXDX 05-10-2016 01:20 PM

By the time they get that far through the training letter there will probably have been at least one more bid and the letter will be revised. Good chance you will go earlier than your projected date without any swap. Just keep in mind that you aren't really swapping dates, you are swapping slots, and they tend to move. Especially when they are assigned that far out.

MeXC 05-10-2016 01:21 PM

I have a 10 JULY 17 MD11C Initial. If anyone earlier than this would like to trade please PM me.

gcsass 05-10-2016 01:30 PM

Looking at the Bus letter......nothing but new hire slots for Oct/Nov/Dec of 16 and ZERO training scheduled from mid September of 17 until January of 18.

And what is an '" Admin Instructor"?

There are several vacancies for that too.....

Guessing this will change ....... Or not.

LOL. I'm guessing the year is wrong as well. I wonder if there is someone who would like to file a class action lawsuit over this.

777 CA. I was wondering how long it would take for a wise crack to pop before I could get back and fix this.

There is a little irony in the fact that the biggest bid we've had in easily the last decade somehow manages to fall under the old CBA rules. Another "programming issue" no doubt.

Admin Instructor is for Flexes or Pro's that need training but won't get to activate (flexes) on that date. There's always been a admin training letter but just never published.
My training was bumped once for a Admin Slot - Pro Inst who never made it thru...

Thanks! Never seen that published before. I was wondering if it was just a way to expand the training letter ( that they are contractually required to publish) while they work on the actual training letter.....

The Walrus 05-10-2016 08:03 PM

I have 2 777 Ca slots, and 1 767 f/o slot. Am willing to sell for goats and donkeys.

Wow.

If the search function for NEW HIRE PILOT slots worked properly, then there are:

163 in MD11
130 in B757/B767
106 in B777
84 in A300

...through spring/summer 2017.

Sorry, that was just for 75/76

Sluggo_63 05-11-2016 01:38 PM

What I found strange is that they are training 16-01 pilots before some 15-01 ones. Same seat/base.

I believe a lot of 75/76 folks are getting passed over, with passover, due to shortage in that seat...

It's not that... there won't be any passover. It's different bids.

Look at the 757 letter.

01 AUG 2016 Training date
SF & BW were awarded M57C slots on 15-01
SM was awarded E57C slot on 15-01

20 JUN 2016 Training date
SM & TH were awarded M57C slots on 16-01
BR was awarded E57C slot on 16-01

Not that I care, but I always thought the training letters trained in order. All 15-01s would train before 16-01s. I guess not.

memhubturn 05-11-2016 03:33 PM

What does the $ symbol mean on the training letter? There is a key for & and % but not for $.

I'm probably not a good source to answer this, but, I do know on the airbus, there were some 75 captains that were awarded bus capt and their training dates were published as summer 2017 on bid 15 01 training letter. Those captains were senior to the most junior bus captain that will upgrade this summer on 15 01, thus, triggering passover for those folks. I guess they just filled in the training slots between now and next summer with 16 01 guys. Again, this is just what I noticed on the airbus.

FXDX 05-11-2016 06:13 PM

While in theory they should train 15-1 first, they will continue to train in any order they choose and then pay pass over if appropriate. It really sucks, because you can't even estimate when you will go to training before you bid. That's why bid for training is a huge gain in the new contract, or will be when it's actually implemented.

Wildmanny 05-11-2016 07:27 PM

Why we agree to anything implemented at a date other than date of signing is beyond me. Whatever. Spilled milk.

You're just not being a team player! Get on board and come on in for the big win!

Passover pay doesn't account for difference in trip schedules, overrides, and grid penalties. Yes, you may be paying me passover pay, but I am definitely not making what I should be nor am I flying the schedules I want.

24.B.7. says that a system bid must be closed or canceled prior to the opening of another system bid.

This does not take "automation" (or programming) as defined in the contract. Why isn't it in effect at DOS for bid 16-01?

Anyone think there's a chance of winning a grievance on that?

They have up to May 2017 to complete Phase Four events. With the length of the training letters and another bid sure to come out Spring 2017, the old contract filling of vacancies is going to be around until 3-4 years into our stellar 6 year contract.

MX727 05-13-2016 06:59 PM

The previous bid was closed. Remember when the FCIF comes out and the verbiage says "the bid will close on xx/xx/xxxx"? Closed does not mean all training has been completed. That section means we can't have two open bids at the same time. They tried that once.

GiggityGoo 05-24-2016 02:51 PM

Grievance?

The bate and switch on the posting 16-01 is unacceptable. Some of the projected dates aren't even close. I heard a 757 capt, said the fcif said Spring 17 but he now starts next month.

We need to start a grievance with the union. I'm in if one starts.

FXDX 05-25-2016 09:00 AM

What FCIF? This happens EVERY time there is a bid. Somebody gets screwed by being trained out of seniority sequence with a last minute, summer time slot that totally destroys their vacation plans of that year. That is why bid for training was such a big deal for many and was one of the best gains we got in the current contract. Too bad it isn't in effect yet, but once that feature goes live, hopefully for the next huge bid, we will finally get to have some say as to when we actually go to training. Until, be prepared to go one week after the bid closes if you decide to bid a new seat. Good luck grieving that.
