I saw a post on JF talking about how PNP has led to a degradation of QOL. This was followed by some comments about how little Open Time is available. Can someone explain the relationship? I don’t have any experience with PNP and I just got based in MEM, so I’ve never experienced much Open Time to begin with. TIA

1) We're fat staffed.
2) Hours are down and spread thin.
3) Folks are holding onto what they've got, because there isn't as much open time activity and it's more difficult to make it up.
They feel they are at a disadvantage in the open time process when so many guys/gals have PNP (Priority Non Premium) to work with. PNP being somewhat of a trump card in snagging open time. PNP is typically generated in the SLG process and there are a few strategies to use if you'd like to acquire some.

Even when manning is lean,
really easy to drop a trip via Proffer. (exceptions around the major holidays when everyone wants to be home)
And, on those days, can almost always get rid of a trip via Proffer if you're doing so as a giveaway versus wanting the makeup hours for later use
