UPS Pilots Reach TA
UPS, pilots reach tentative agreement after five years of talks | Labor content from ATWOnline
Will be interesting to hear how it compares to our recent CBA! I hope they got a fantastic contract that we can leverage in 6....10 years.

I'm not an expert on their retirement, but I saw their "slope" graph, and I still think their A-plan is less than ours. We max out at 25 YOS, they have to go to 30 to maximize their A-plan. And our 25 year A-plan is more than their 30 year amount. And that's for Captains. FO are way below ours.
That's if I'm understanding their A-plan correctly. I might be wrong...

On the slides posted in the link above, their A plan increased dramatically. That, combined with their B plan puts them above us in retirement with this TA.
Their health care is fixed at 17% of UPS' cost which I think is better than ours which floats up.
Their pay rates are about 1-2% better than ours for WB captains, and they've always been better than ours for NB.
All-in-all, looks like they got some solid improvements. Gives us something to base our improvements on for our next contract!

I don't know if this will pass. Though on the initial quick look, it appears decent, however, the retro pay is pretty low for five years of negotiations. Having to work 30 years in order to get the full retirement pay-yikes, wouldn't want that. And then there's the sticky little details that won't come out for awhile.
I was really hoping that they would come out with a deal that would completely blow ours away. Maybe the little details will do so. And perhaps many people are just fatigued by waiting so long, but I don't know. Then again, it might be good to sign something before either of the worthless candidates we have get in office and screw up the economy even worse.

To some of our FEDEx brothers from a UPS guy,
UPS's B-plan is 12% and that's where our real money is, the bump in our A-plan is great, but the B-plan is the 800lb gorilla. Also the 5 year negociations time period has been stated numerous times, but we did receive a pay raise for one of those years so the actual time period that we were past our amenable date for calculating a "retro payment" isn't 5 years but closer to 3 And 1/2 years. Overall it's a good contract, retirement bump is excellent, retro/bonus, not so much. Lots of other improvements as well. One question, when did FedEx start your B-plan? I remember you guys had only the A-plan for awhile then added a B-plan in a later contract..what year was that?
