Then you need to opt out when this is certified as a Class Action. This also is not wasting your dues. ALPA has been sued for Duty of Fair Representation (DFR) numerous times before, and there is another current DFR lawsuit against ALPA for the Continental-United merger. In all previous lawsuits against ALPA, there was never a dues increase or assessment of the membership.
If you do not care about being represented or where our $14.5 million in dues went over the last 5 years, then you need to opt out so if there is recovery, you will not be a participant in it.
The 4 named plantiffs have discussed this numerous times and do not want to carry dead weight such as yourself.

Shortfall 2105
Boy am I going to be screwed if I live that long
Let's see, 2016 - 2105 is 89 years...rule of 2 so if I retired today my 130k pension will barely pay my cable, cell phone, and has/electric

1. Where were my dues dollars spent from 2010-2015?
2. Why did FDX ALPA never access the "war chest" - ALPA's Major Contingency Fund during negotiations when it was realized we were out of money?
3. How much do FDX pilots pay annually to ALPA?
4. How much of our dues, paid by FDX pilots, are given to ALPA National?
I would start with these questions. Contact the FDX ALPA Secretary Treasurer. He may not be able to answer all of the questions due to the lawsuit, but every member certainly has a right to know how much we pay annually to ALPA.

I might ponder the monthly dues paid, could simply extrapolate that by using my own dues, or a portion thereof, times the odd 4k pilots on the list
and it's not like the NMB is known for it's rapid pace, we could've taken a month or two off with a BS story to the NMB guy of wanting to repoll the membership after the change in leadership
