CAN deadhead question

I have an upcoming DH on Air France from CAN-CDG. Can I take a my luggage on board with me with my liquids that meet US Carry-on rules or will I be forced to check my bag - which I don't want to do if I can avoid it. Any other tips for DHing out of CAN would be appreciated, as I've never done it. I will be operating into CAN. Thanks!

According to info available on-line, 100ml max capacity containers and the standard drill with the zip lock bag should work. That said, expecting anything to be consistent and standard in the "land of not-quite right" is probably asking a lot.

Traveling first class seems to make the process less strict and quicker if the dedicated security lines for first are available. When I've been in steerage, I lost a cigar cutter and had my bags gone through on several occasions.

I'm not sure what the big deal is with checking a bag. I do it all the time and never had a problem even when connecting with two different airlines. You're just going A to B with no connection. Save yourself some hassle and the bag drag, then you won't need to worry about what will or won't pass through security.

When you get to Ops after operating in, the FOA will probably be aware you're going to DH out but make sure you get what you need. As a minimum, you should have a copy of the inbound Gen Dec and the yellow Disembarkation form before you leave for the hotel. It's unlikely you'll need a chop letter in CAN but it can't hurt to have one filled out and ready just in case.
