FedEx First Year Info for New Hires...

Thanks for all the great guidance. One more question for any mil reservists:
It looks like my 2 weeks of Annual Training might conflict with my BI dates. (I don't have a firm date yet). If it does conflict, what would you all recommend? Either I take the first BI date given and possibly take a bad year, or delay my BI 1 to 2 classes to complete my AT.
I'm definitely leaning towards taking a bad year and prioritizing getting on property ASAP, but curious what other opinions were out there.

Agree with above sentiments. How would you get a bad year from missing AT? When is your R/R date? You only need to earn 35 points (an additional 15 membership points are given to get to 50 points, a good year). I don’t know your individual circumstances, but reschedule the AT. Any commander I know would support you civilian job.
Don’t delay your FedEx start dude.

Thanks guys! I was overthinking this one (and a bit under educated on good/bad years...). Just because I miss out on the main 2 week AT the rest of the unit is executing does not mean I will be left high and dry for the year. My CO seems pretty understanding, I'll work on putting together a few game plans and then execute depending on the BI date I get.
And remember, barring an activation, Military is supposed to work with your Civilian employer if you have a demonstrated need that must be accomplished at a particular time.
And BI, with it's Career Setting Seniority number, is a heck of a thing to defer.
And, although it seems unlikely that hiring will stop....never quite know what will happen. Everything was looking great a few years ago until it wasn't and we wound up with people swimming in the pool

Regarding initial aircraft selection, what happens if you are awarded one of the aircraft that are getting phased out? Would that mean you’d possibly stay junior longer? Are the timelines for replacement even worth worrying about for those starting this summer? Thanks!

All seats below these percentages will be awarded to New Hires. New hires will not attain seniority in these seats higher than these water lines until the next system bid (18-24 months down the road).
MEM Domiciles:
B777 - 95%
MD11 - 55%
B767 - 95%
A300 - 55%
B757 - 35%
ANC Domiciles:
B777 - 45%
MD11 - 40%
IND 767 - 65%
OAK 767 - 70%
I didn't feel like doing the remaining domiciles. Ask a buddy on property.
Happy Bidding! (You're picking the plane and seniority that you'll hold for the next 2+ years)

The biggest thing that you need to consider is: "What percentage did the first officer seats fill up to on the last system bid?"
