For the 757 I’ve heard a lot of talk about how they can fly up to 4 legs a night...is this a pretty normal occurrence? Anyone on property under a year able to give an example of a normal month?
Also, for someone going through training this summer, is there an expected timeframe when you could bid to a different aircraft if you were awarded the 757? Thanks!

There are very few 4 leg nights, a fair number of 3 leggers, but mostly 2. You should ask a friend on property for a bid pack. You will be able to look at the pairings and see what's typical.

You won't be able to bid a new aircraft until the next system bid, which is not projected to come out until Spring/Summer 2022 (per the last system bid publication and always subject to change).

Starting class soon and hoping to get the MD. Just curious how the noise levels are on the MD flight deck. Also, does the MD have an intercom system/ability to turn the hot mic on and off? I currently use an in-ear style headset with excellent noise reduction because my current aircraft is very loud but I quite like the headset and would be happy to keep using it if it's still suitable for whatever fleet I end up on.

This. And there's no hot mic. We were supposed to get an upgrade with hot mic, but I believe that was before COVID. Use your headset, we MD'ers only ask that you put the ship set back in place after you use your personal set.

There are more trips that will do 3 legs a duty period. There's one that goes MEM-FWA-SBN layover and then SBN-MEM.
Most of the trips in the 75 bidpack will do one leg inbound and one leg outbound. MEM-CID layover CID-MEM. Or if it's hub turns through Indy, there's a DH to IAD, layover, IAD-IND 3'sh hours in the hub and then IND-IAD layover. Rinse repeat for a total of 8 legs for the week (4 nights of flying) bracketed with another backend DH.
If you're awarded the 75 this year, likely bid 12-18 months in the future. But that'a a who the heck knows, all dependent upon the surge in freight continuing. Might happen quicker, rumor has it our current training letter only has slots for another 6-8 months of new hires.
And then the timing of your upgrade would depend upon you.
One thing that could happen, is you getting WB pay while still holding your NB seat on the 75.

bid the 757 last and hope you get awarded it. Then, wait till someone junior to you activates in a wide body. Then, email ALPA and say you qualify for new hire junior activation compensation. You’ll get WB pay until you bid for and get awarded a WB seat on the next system bid.
