I've done some asking around already, but anyone know if CGN is still on the table these days for new hires? Thanks!

No, all slots were filled on last system bid.

Searched and didn't find a direct answer for this - I'm planning on driving my trusty civic out to MEM for training and then crash pad duty. Are there any issues with registering the car in TN when renting a crash pad since I won't be able to provide utility bills as proof of residency?

Or do most people just not register in TN unless they get ticketed?

As long as your state will continue to register your car without needing it to be there for an inspection, don’t worry about it. Mines been registered in another state for 5 years. Take a spin through the Democrat lot. More of the same. Do whatever is easiest.

So, with a 05xx last four, is this a pretty plausible scenario?

I’d say you have a pretty decent shot with those last 4...

Is it very likely with the way the drops have been going lately? I thought the bottom few spots have been going to ANC for recent classes.

That is true ANC MD has been consistently going to the most junior people. This strategy used to work when all fleets were MEM based, but with ALL domiciles/fleets in the drops as of late it makes it more unlikely. MEM 57 seems to be around mid pack in recent classes of 28-30.

Default Decisions

Hey purple peeps,

I was hired at UA 1/7/20 right before the poop hit the turbine. Around March 2020 took a COLA and was able to return to previous job at the same position, thereby skipping first year pay at UA. Kept accruing seniority the last year and a half and now UA is hiring pretty significantly (they say 100/month indefinitely due to attrition.)

Just received the invite here to interview. I can hold out for another 6 mo while UA hired and still build my number. So in a tough choice. Obviously I will interview and I know the money will be significantly better at purple but besides the money my concerns are giving up close to 3 years seniority at UA to start at the bottom of purple and sacrificing potential QOL at UA. Clearly don’t have the job yet but given the opportunity I’m torn what to do. Family already been through hell last year and I want to give them the best direct route.

why I want purple:
-incredible company
-better stability
-no pax
-sooner chance to travel the world

my Concerns:
-first year pay
-giving up 3 yrs seniority (nearly)
-better seniority progression at UA
-stuck at the back curve of FDX hiring

im beyond thankful for this “dilemma” but I also want to make the best informed decision, should I get the offer, for my family.

appreciate any intel!

i was in the 1/14 at UA class so I know your pain. I was able to start last year and have a few hundred below me at purple. I would ask where you currently live. it was an easy choice for me to leave because i'm going to be a lifetime commuter. there are MANY pluses as well
