Is Fedex provide pilots with any Loss of License policy or protection in case one day you don't pass the medical? If so, what are the details?

Thank you

For a pilot living in San Diego, what would be the best equipment and base assignment considering mainly a decent quality of life?

FDX and Alpa have very good disability, loss of license programs. Some optional some automatic. All things being equal, a senior 767 pilot could hold a very good quality of life schedule living in SAN. I have been here 17 years and can hold the SAN line about half the time. If that isn’t an option for a while SAN has pretty good commute options to any of the other seats.

You do understand that he paid for the ticket right? A ZED ticket would put you ahead of jumpseaters. So when he said he had to ride upfront, that usually means there weren't any seats in the back. Myidtravel will refund him money because he didn't get a "seat". All very legitimate and above the board.

Just to make sure I got this right, if there aren't any seats available and a crew member has a ZED ticket, the airline will put them up front ahead of any listed jumpseaters and refund you money since you didn't get a seat. So if I live in a city that is hard to jumpseat to I can buy a ZED ticket and get ahead of any other jumpseater and as long as there aren't any seats in the back, I get to ride up front for free ahead of anyone else that may have listed before me?

No, riding on the jumpseat and getting a seat on a ZED fair are totally different issues. To clarify what a previous poster said, say he bought a ZED/ID90 ticket for himself and his son. In the end there was only one seat left in the back. He would talk to the gate agent when it came time to assign that last seat. Since he is a crew member, he can list for a jumpseat and ride up front, get a refund of his ticket, and his son gets the last seat in the back. Jumpseat priorities vary from airline to airline, but almost all put first priority on their pilots, then their express carriers, then other airlines.

You must take an exam every 6 months and you will book through www.myidtravel.com Its very easy to book and check loads.

My family of four went to Paris over thanksgiving last year(made every flight) and we've made multiple trips to visit family in the Detroit area this year. It is a benefit that we have access to if some don't won't to use it because of the "aggravation" that's cool.

But don't let anyone tell you it can't be done.
Thanks for the info! Where do we the the test, and why is it every 6 months? Does our family have to take the test too?

Thanks!

This is what I recall doing: On a computer in AOC or AOTC, go to home.fedex.com. Keyword search for flc. Use VIPS login to proceed. Click the Go to the Fedex Learning center button. Search for "ctravel" under find learning, and take the test.

Only you have to take the test every 6 months to remind yourself to remind your dependents that if they don't behave and wear proper attire on the other carrier, you'll lose this benefit.
