Im certainly interested in the company as a long term choice, but year 1 FO pay is a big cut that I’m looking to minimize. Recruiting tells me it’s down to 3-6 months. Is that realistic?
The only upgrade that would be out of seniority order would be for ILC. But that would still require interviewing with a team and being picked up. Upgrade into the Phenom is hovering around 8 months, possibly shorter. Challenger is 14-16 months. Praetor I have no clue. There are opportunities for bonuses to help boost year 1 pay while waiting for upgrade.

Phenom is 8 months +/- .5 months.
Challenger and Praetor run about the same 14-18 months on the high end.
ILC in theory is open to anyone on Day 1, but the shortest time I've seen since I've been here is ~6 months and that was because the applicant had an established relationship with the hiring aircraft commander due to prior military service. Most ILC applicants are getting traction between 18-30 months, but that program is either who you know or how many times you're willing to go back to the grindstone and interview again.

Ok that sounds more realistic. Thanks for that info so far. Now are you referring to these fuel bonuses and such that are to augment your pay above 100 a year first year? And if so, what’s the numbers guys are seeing on these bonuses? Assuming you are using the pbs schedule…currently doing 8/6 so that isn’t too big a deal to me.

There are dozen of posts in the Flexjet threads that go into full detail of the interview and company in general. Lots of very good information already here for you to peruse. Best of luck with your interview!

I got in ILC at 6 months.... I had never met my commander.... I was recommended by a captain I had flown with on one rotation. I do have pretty decent experience in 121, 91 and 135 . . . but what I was told is I'm a pretty easy dude to fly with who is responsible, a problem solver and not a prick.

How much hand flying is allowed at Flex? Is there policy on when AP should be used?

Hand fly it all day long until it's required by RVSM regulations, if that's what floats your boat.
