Default Questions about App and Domicile

I’m going to submit my app today and was wondering what the timeline is to hear back. Or I guess the question is if you don’t hear back is it safe to assume they’re not interested or will they at least give a phone screen. Also I live in the Dallas area and was wondering if it would be an airline from DFW or do they try to start you from their center at Love? Does anyone know the minimums to at least get a call. I’m starting ATP CTP next week.

Dallas is one of our larger hubs and as such you could start your rotation at the Flex terminal at Love Field and end up flying back into DFW at the end via the airlines. You can also get the reverse or any combination of both, it just depends. If you do end up at the wrong airport from where you parked your car, you can expense an Uber to get you back to where you started from.

On the app, we are hiring at 1500+, so you might get a call to do the phone screen. Since you're in Dallas, you might want to attend one of Flexjet's pilot recruiting socials that are held periodically. I think they post them on LinkedIn. The hiring folks look at the entire body of work to date (type of flying matters as they say...) and as well as you as a person to see if you're a good fit within the company culture. I know there were a couple in my class that had the ATP checkride at the same time as their type.

Hope that helps and best of luck to you.

There is a RTAG hiring expo in Fort Worth on 10/7-8. A bunch of companies will have booths there, including (I think) Flexjet.

Thanks for replies. I’m finishing up my app tomorrow morning and I’m registered for RTAG. Hoping FlexJet will be there. If so I heard they can use that as the phone screen and schedule an in person interview. 11,450 TT with 10,500 TPIC. Light on ME at 81 hrs but hopefully I can get a shot.

With those hours, I'd be shocked if you didn't hear anything within 24-48 hours. However, they can get backed up at times, but would still expect something within a fairly short period of time.

A classmate of mine had Caravan time and no ATP.

Just make sure to be ready for the simulator eval. They’ve sent many TBNTs for folks who red screen the sim.

I just flew 35 hours under the hood and actual with 3 different instructors in an Arrow and Apache getting ready. I had an interview at RTAG on Saturday and was told I would be getting an invite early this week and to schedule the sim right after I finish ATP CTP. I finish class on the 17th and take the written on the 18th.

great. Ask your instructor at the end to do some V1 cuts and you’ll be set

HI. Can you elaborate on the sim evaluation? How did it go and was it easier/harder than you expected? Thank you!
