Gulfstream

$1.2 Billion in firm orders and options cancelled. What’s up? Gulfstream souring on fractionals in general or Is there other writing on the wall?

It may have something to do with a couple of G500s pounding hard into the ground from a software glitch that’s yet to be fixed. Apparently, there’s an AD in place restricting the airplanes to 15 knots max wind for landing. Lots of angry billionaires with brand new Gulfstreams they can’t fly if that limitation will be exceeded. Many orders have been cancelled because of this too. Gulfstream better get on the ball and resolve this issue soon.

It is a line by line computer code review ordered by FAA. It is also setting back certification of the 700. Should be resolved by October but it has definitely caused some issues. A friend's flight department was approached to replace their 450 with a new 500 with delivery in six weeks. That means more than a handful of orders fell out of contract.

That would make sense if Flex had canceled the order rather than Gulfstream doing the canceling as the article appears to suggest.
