Flexjet pilots / Jumpseating
Do any of you jumpseat to your domicle? I am considering Flexjet and I would choose DFW if offered the job. It would be a considerable amount of time before I could relocate within the 1.5 hour range and was wondering if any of you all have tried this before. If so, which airline(s)?
I would assume that one would have to jumpseat in the evening before the first day of duty and find a place to crash. |

Dude.
I think pre-911 your chances were a lot better, but now with the CASS system your pretty much hosed because its really the gate agents who you deal with the entire time, rarely do you even talk to the captain until you board the plane. I definitely would not even consider commuting as an option.

Fractionals cant jumpseat. Period...at least not at NWA. In addition, gate agents have the list of airlines that are allowed (cass and non-cass) in their computer system.

if you're flying for a part 135 outfit that's not a fractional (air cargo carriers, cape air, etc.), but is a CASS participant would you still run into the same problems?
