Default First/Last day airline travel dress

Just curious, how do you dress for the airline portion of your duty (first/last day)? In uniform throughout? Only through security? Different on first OR last day?

Everybody is different and there is no set policy that I'm aware of. Some wear their work slacks and company polo, others change into business casual or other clothing once through security.

I just stay in uniform because 1. I'm lazy and don't like changing in the nasty airport bathrooms and 2. the flight attendants usually take care of you better when still in uniform. I can't count the number of times I've been moved from a seat in the back to the front, been given free snack boxes, extra drinks, etc without ever asking. They seem to take pity on us a little more if it's your flight home after a long rotation...lol!

Day 1, I'm always in uniform because I'm usually heading straight to the plane to fly 1 or 2 legs that day. You'll usually know that before getting to the airport, so you can adjust your attire as needed.

I live in a non-Hub base. Live legs that day? Full uniform. Unkown/repo legs? Flexjet polo and uniform pants.

Normally casual dress on both sides. I just change in the FBO if I need to. Hate wearing the monkey suit. In fact before this job, I'd never worn a tie more than a total of 10 hours in my life.

If you don't want to wear a tie, any fractional or airline is not for you, in fact, the majority of aviation

You must be new to the industry if you don’t immediately know and routinely rag on Flexjet uniforms.

Actually a significant number of corporate 91 departments don't have ties - just polos and slacks.

Which is why I said the majority, didn't say all
