Default Time Build Up - Austix/San Antonio area.

Hello everyone!

I am thinking abut going to Central Texas College to get my AA in Commercial Pilot and later attend Texas State to get a BA in Management (trying to be flexible when it comes to education).

I was wondering if anyone has any idea how the aviation community is in the Austin to San Antonio area to build some hours past Commercial and CFI ratings. I know of some part 61 and part 141 schools who may offer a spot as a CFI but other than that I dont know if the interest of flight training is big on that area in comparison to DFW and Houston.

Any information would be great.

I think CTC was putting some money into their program now which is nice. I know it was cheaper. As an Austinite, I can tell you that the pilot community is sometimes hard to find, but its definitely there. You are right in that the flight training community is smaller in Central Texas, but it seems to be growing. Also, I highly recommend Texas A&M University-Central Texas for the aviation science program. It's well priced, and you'll get a solid education. I think their program is about to be entirely online too, so you'll be able to work as an instructor nearly anywhere and finish your degree. I know CTC will offer you a spot instructing if you go all the way with them.
