Default Which Foreflight Version Did You Get?

I'm starting my commercial rating and will become a CFI soon after.

I'm thinking the basic version is best. That way I won't become too reliant on IAPs that are overlayed for my convenience on a low IFR chart or an airport chart that tells me my location via GPS.

The last thing I want to do is become complacent due to reliance on technology.

What's your take on the differences?

From what I understand, the basic plan does not include any approach charts, just airport diagrams. So you'll still have to carry IAPs, DPs, etc from another source for any IFR work. The ProPlus has them and you don't have to overlay them on enroute charts if you don't want too.

If you're only going to be a CFI and not a CFI-I, then the Basic should be enough. Beyond that, I'd spring for the Pro Plus.

Incorrect. The standard Foreflight subscription does include approach charts. The difference is that it does not geolocate the aircraft symbol on top of the approach plate, nor does it overlay the approach chart onto the maps view page (both of which aren't necessary in the slightest).
