Flight schools in the San Diego area
 

So I am currently in Baltimore finishing up my commercial and then my CFI, CFII, and MEI but really have no desire to stay here to flight instruct. Originally, I had planned on attending Coast Flight Academy in San Diego (I'm prior military so using my GI Bill), but have a very good paying job here and found a program that was essentially the same here in Baltimore that I could do while working. I am leaving my current career in pursuit of the airlines and I would love to get back out to San Diego, but not sure what the status of flight schools out there are (and honestly don't see a whole lot when doing a google search). I plan on contacting Coast Flight when the time comes (I should be finished sometime in March/April) but does anyone else have any recommendations for schools to look at that way that might be hiring?

US Aviation Academy in North Texas is pretty much always hiring.

There's SAA and CFA at GEE field in El Cajon.

Most every school everywhere that has active students are hiring. Schools like US Aviation, that have 141 programs and ab initio programs, are where you have a chance at getting a lot of flight time. Once you are hired, there are other factors, such as one facility being better than another for actually attaining said flight time.
All in all, you will get hired right away. Just do it at a school that has a lot of customers

I'd bang out those hours somewhere like FL or AZ where you aren't waiting for the marine layer to burn off before you can take students up. Depending on what airline you end up working for, SAN may not be where you want to live due to commuting hassles out of there.

Skywest has a base there. Plus the marine layer isn't that thick and usually burns off by 9am. Also vfr on top works as well.

Florida and Arizona are both on the list too for sure. Ideally I want to get those hours as fast as possible so I suppose a place like Transpac would be the best route to go for that, but I really just am in love with SD and would love to find a gig that gets me decent hours there.
