Good CFI course anywhere in Arizona?
Hello everyone,
Not sure I’ll be able to fly in PR for a long time, so I’m thinking AGAIN about that famous CFI route. Weather here in Denver is not that great, so Arizona could work for me, plus that cost of living. Any decent school to get my CFI? Thanks and for those willing to give me crap, just don’t. Place looks amazing but the cost is ridiculous. Like 10k their web says. [emoji55] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |
You get what u pay for. They have experienced, career CFI's there. They will get you well prepared for the checkride. Good luck in your quest.

American Flyers in Addison TX(North of Dallas) could be an option for you. They have a new Scottsdale AZ location too. Haven't attended personally but I hear good things since we work with them.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro Assuming that you have your commercial/instrument, and are current, and can do decent commercial maneuvers at this time, and have your writtens done for the CFI, it should be a seven to ten day course. Flight time should be 10-20 hours depending on your skill level, and ground school should be another 5-20 hours depending on your knowledge level and the kind of questions known to your flight instructor to be asked by a particular examiner. As a suggestion, pick up your ground instructor ratings before you go for your CFI. This is purely a paperwork exercise involving only written tests. This will get you into the books, and should cut down on the needed ground time with the instructor. It will also provide some brownie points with the examiner. Joe |

I agree that $10K is out of line. How many flight hours are estimated in that?

Joe I have 700h right now, and I was flying a twin engine until hurricane Maria ******** up everything, so my stick and rudder skills should be on point. Knowledge is a different story, I'm studying FOI/FIA right now and I'll pass both written in a couple of days. I heard that AGI advice before, thanks for the info :) Time is critical for me right now. All my stuff still in PR, suddenly no income or flight time, that sucks AND don't wanna waste my time waiting for nice recruiters to give a call. So CFI it is :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
