Here you go man,
O & S Aviation. They are in Siler City NC. The guys name is Oscar. The website is www.osaviation.com. I went down there for my commercial multi initial + SE addon. I got about 23 hours in the piper twin commanche for 3100 bucks. It took four days alltogether. The people are really nice and he is a very intelligent instructor. I think he does time building too for dirt cheap, and its all just you flying around no safety pilot stuff.
Even with airfare and a 35 dollar a night motel room it was still a great deal.

Wings just filed for bankruptcy and is shutting down so that option is out!

lol funny story I went to wings to check it out and was told they were closing....this was after a reccomendation from a pilot and an hour drive.:p

Its too bad though i heard wings was good while it lasted.

It was a great FBO... All of the instructors were fun and professional and the aircraft were in fairly new and in great shape. My family is good friends with the owner and he said that they had 9 students and just couldn't keep his head above water. Brian Attis has owned it for 20 years and it is a shame that he had to leave aviation like this.

Ya i had heard nothing but good about it, so Wings is totally done then for good? I had also heard all the FAA examiners used to hang out there, cant say if its true or not but wish I could have met a few lol. Overall though MN seems like its starting to go downhill as far as training is concerned but who knows maybe im just not looking hard enough.

Thunderbird?

Anyone got any gouge on Thunderbird Aviation outta Flying Cloud? I'm looking at them because they are VA approved and if I can get 60% off training I'm gonna take it.

Hey I can tell you what I was told when I went down there around the begining of january. Its 141 (obviously), the fleet was older but seemed to be in good condition (didnt look too hard it was -20 or so out lol), They didnt seem to have a lot of students but had an impressive number of instructors for the lack of students. Prices were fair with private being around 6000 for private and mostly around that for the rest. They have a deal with Academy College for an associate degree...didnt look into it though beacuse it was an associate. Id call them and ask if you have any more questions which im sure you do. I talked to the guy running it in Flying Cloud for probably 45 minutes about everything from flight schools to the future of airports around the twin cities. Also i almost forgot to mention they have locations in flying cloud, crystal and mankato i believe. Also while your looking look into www.flyingscotchman.com They have good prices and great availability right now. Im not sure on the VA benefits part but it never hurts to look right?
