Interview before finishing CFI certificate?
 
Hey all. Currently going through my training to get current before moving on to my CFI. I have emailed some feelers out to different fbo's and flight schools around me about teaching once I have my ticket (I'm shooting for May). Is it common to have an interview before you get your CFI? I had the director of aviation at a 141 program tell me to reach out when I'm ready for an interview. So do I take this as an open door to have a job before I finish my training, or do I wait until I have my certificate? I could understand if I was doing my training here and he has flown with me, but they have no idea who I am. Any input?

US Aviation has a new CFIs stans class for May and we'd love to have you!

But yes, I think it is pretty common to at least do the HR interview before you have your certificate. You're still required to do a flight review before you can be added to the 141 cert.

Thanks for the information!! Unfortunately at this time I cannot drag my wife and kids across the country. I do appreciate the help.
