Yellow ribbon schools
 

Does anyone have a list of yellow ribbon schools or know where I could see every school that offers it? I really don’t know what yellow ribbon is. I just hear that they pay for everything needed instead of just a degree. Please correct me

Are you using VA benefits? Do you have Post 9/11 as well?

So I talked to Embry riddle today, no way is this possible for my. My gi bill will cover 100% of the tuition cost BUT the flight courses are not paid for. The VA office at the school said the courses alone would be 65,000-70,000 out of pocket. How is this even possible? Would it be cheaper to do 4 years online aviation science, pay up to 8k for my private pilots license, then use my gi bill to pay for the commercial and stuff? Please show me a cheaper route where I can still land a good job with an airline

‘4 year online aviation science’? Would that program be accredited and worth anything? If not, I wouldn’t be wasting the money.

Yes, it cost $$$ to even sit in a plane, one serious hurdle to deal with. Maybe you can’t be doing it all at once? Look at the technical school or community college level. I’d also want to get the flight portion moving along, more so than academic credits.

US Aviation works with Tarrant County College which is a two year associates degree program in Professional Piloting. At that program the VA pays for tuition plus flight fees for Instrument - CFII up to TCO minimums. Private pilot flight fees not covered, but there are school loans available.

Wait, you mean you might actually have to pony up the dollars yourself...just like the rest of us?

A little unnecessary don't you think!? To be eligible for the Post 9/11 the said person had to already sacrifice their time in the service. For those that had to pay out of pocket for their flight school. That was their prerogative. They could have chosen to fly for the military or been enlisted and had the same GI Bill opportunity.

God Forbid someone serves in the military and have an opportunity you didn't.
