Default Foreflight Scout With Non-cellular Ipad???

Hello All,
I am currently a student pilot working on my private. I have recently purchased a Foreflight Scout. I currently own a wifi-only ipad. I am wondering if anyone out there knows if this can work, or must I purchase a cellular ipad? Are there any limitations to a wifi ipad with Scout?
Thanks

You don’t need a cellular iPad, but without it, or another GPS source, you won’t have any position data.

It’ll work for weather info without a location. But since you probably want traffic, need some GPS input. Probably cheaper standalone GPS Bluetooth units than the extra cost of cellular.

If the planes you fly in have a Garmin GTX 345 with ADS-B out, you can connect your iPad with the transponder via bluetooth and the iPad will receive position information from the transponder.
