Loans for flight training
 

Are there any lenders out there to get loans for flight school that allow you to start making payments after you complete your training? I was approved through Sallie Mae for a 15 year term but would have to move to go to an ATP location. What I’m trying to do is attend a flight school close to home if possible! Anything out there similar??

I may be wrong but I don't think Sallie Mae's loan is exclusive to ATP. It's a "career training" loan, and should be good for multiple flight schools, but Sallie Mae probably has to recognize them. If there's a major flight school closer to home, check with Sallie Mae to see if you can use the funds for that program. The only other lender I have seen is Wells Fargo, but Sallie Mae is more liberal with getting things approved from what I've heard

15 year term... oh my....
I have also a future plan, to MAYBE go for ATPL, when I am experienced enough, but this expenses really scare me.
Like, you never know. What if one day it happens, that you can not have a medical for any reason.... but bam, the loan is still there for many years...
I understand that flyin is very expensive, but still.... I find it risky.

But I do not know how to save enough money in advanced, during training? maybe become a CFI?
