How to convert my flight license
 

I am a Chinese pilot and have about 9,000 hours of flying experience. I want to convert China's ATPL to FAA ATP, but the Civil Aviation Administration of China does not give me a verification letter. I was trainined in Australia and have a valid Australian CPL. The Australian Civil Aviation Authority has provided the FAA with a verification letter. What do I need to do next? There are many training institutions in Miami, and some say that I need to go to an FSDO to get the U.S. PPL, go to ATP-CTPcourse, and then make a reduced 737ng type rating, you can get FAA ATP, and some say you don't need to go to FSDO. Need a PPL, who really understands this process, please help me

If a training center says you need to get a FAA private certificate to get your FAA ATP I would remove them from the list of training centers you are looking at. The regulation is very clear. FAR 61.153 says -

"(d) Meet at least one of the following requirements:

(3) Holds either a foreign airline transport pilot license with instrument privileges, or a foreign commercial pilot license with an instrument rating-"

Your Australian license counts. You will have to have the Australian CAA verify your license to the FAA. You will need a TSA background check. You have to complete the ATP CTP classes. And you must pass the 737 type rating program. That is all. Most training centers have seen many foreign pilots and know the procedure.

The PPL based on foreign equivalency is just a paperwork drill. It gets you something with minimal effort so you can fly a N registered aircraft to later get your training, security checks, etc.

Yes but the OP wants a FAA ATP with a 737 type rating. Going to a FSDO to get a VFR only private certificate to fly a PA-34 after getting a flight review that is only valid while his Aussie license is valid is a waste of time.
