Don’t mean to come across as brash, but WHY in the world would you want to pay out of pocket for a 777 type?

What value would that have? Seems like nothing

I’m guessing this involves employment in the Middle East or Asia.
Wouldn’t be unheard of to ‘bring’ your own type rating.

Myst be a charter company. The big ME and Asian companies all provide you with the type rating.
I know Cebu Air in the Philippines and Air India used to do a self funded thing on their wide body fleet.
With the market being as good as it is right now, please don't pay for your own type rating. You will get a job.
