Default B737 Sim Instructor Requirements

I have moved from Europe to the US and am looking at options to do some Sim instruction for B737 part time. In Europe there’s the possibility to do that as a part time freelance job. Could I do this kind of instructing in the US as well? What kind of licenses would be required? So far, I have an ATP with a B737 type and lots of hours on type.
In Europe you need to do a TRI ( Type Rating Instructor) course and then can work as an instructor. I tried to find something similar here in the US but wasn’t able to find a equivalent course. Would I need to do a CFI course?
I am happy for any advice or insight you might provide. Thanks in advance.

In the FAA system simulator training falls under part 142. Under part 142 a sim instructor doesn't even need a type in the aircraft they are instructing in or even an ATP. That being said, what the regulations allow and what the training center requires can be two different thing. The ones I've worked for required a type in the type aircraft you were instructing in.

Airline training departments are full time jobs so it would be hard to get hired on part time. The stand alone TCs like CAE or Pan Am might take you on as a contract instructor. You get trained for that TC and put on their list of approved instructors. When they have a need for an instructor they go down the list till they find someone wanting to work those days.
