International Students in the USA
Hey there... So I wanted to ask for your honest opinion
I am an international student on F1 currently finishing up my dual degrees in mathematics and chemistry in a top 30 university in the us. I wanted to pursue a career as a commercial pilot (I have read through the reality of aviation here in the states.. and I dont have unreal expectations) I wanted to know what are the chances of getting employed in the US after a successful completion of the course? I was inclined to choose them schools in Florida but the more I read about them the more they sound like horror stories. On the website of ATP they put down 'international students welcome' on one page but on the other page for recruiting flight instructors they put down 'only motivated students, no international students'... I wonder will I be expecting discrimination when I attend flight school in the US? I almost finished up university here and I have not encountered any sort of discrimination. So... long story short, are there still any legit/normal training facilities around? Or should I look more into eastern europe as my training base? not talking about aviation universities here since some of them want me to do a BS degree all over again.. Thank you for your time and your opinion is very much appreciated |

You won't have any problems. |
Finding a job in the current market wouldnt be a problem in the current job market. Without a way of obtaining a Green Card you are going to be out of luck though. Airlines will not sponsor visas at this time.
If you end up going through the Green Card process good luck! I went through 10 years ago and it sucks to deal with USCIS! |
Do not waste your time.
Get in touch with an immigration attorney. Most will charge $250-$300 for an hour consultation. Visit 3 or 4 and compare what they’ve told you. Go from there. |
