Instrument Training in a LSA

I’m curious to know if anyone has used an LSA, such as a Sport Cruiser to do instrument training? I’ve heard of it being done but the student would be restricted to only hood work, correct?

Correct. I’ve done it in a Sling2. Could not enter any actual
IMC, including harmless puffy clouds.
