Commercial Single Add On
I earned my commercial multi license several years ago but never got the single. I am now looking to get the single add on. Anybody have any experience with this route? Is the check ride just the commercial single engine maneuvers? Lazy Eights, Chandelles, Eights on Pylons, etc.? How about the oral? Thanks!

My situation was very much the same, but slightly different. I did my multi commercial first, and then my single engine add on about 2 weeks later with the same examiner. My oral was the bare minimum of aircraft systems and performance. I planned a cross country, and we went over the weight and balance. He then asked about a couple of systems on the Cirrus. 25 minutes max. The flight was straight forward, just the manuevers that you listed and maybe a couple more. If you were able to pass the multi initial commercial, you should have no problems getting back up to speed in a single. Good luck!

The PTS (or whatever they call it these days) has a matrix showing what tasks must be added for specific add-ons. There will be an oral, the examiner *should* focus on SE unique topics (but be prepared).
Basically IIRC it should cover the SE stuff not covered in the ME, maneuvers and engine out procedures.
