Default Pilot shortage - minimums for Purdue graduates

I'm sure other university aviation programs have similar things taking place, and that you may not even need to be a program graduate to get hired at these companies, but I was just sent these minimums by a friend and I can say I was quite surprised at just how low they are. Things sure have changed in the last couple years, especially in the last 6-12 months...

Not posting these to brag, but just as a FYI for those interested...

PSA: Commercial and Multi rating

Mesa: Commercial and Multi rating

TSA: 250 TT and 25 ME

Piedmont: 300 TT and 25 ME

Eagle: 400 TT and 50 ME

ASA: 500 TT and 50 ME

Damn, I tell you what it sucks being 04' grad and having absolutely nothing available, and now they can walk right out the door again. Oh well, tell you the truth of it though I'm glad I had the opportunity to instruct, although could've done w/o the last 6 months, but I've really enjoyed my 135 job. Good luck to all the current grad's(well, guess it'll be a few weeks still), looks like you got a helluva good shot for jobs.

What? I presume you are talking about Embry-Riddle.

Not trying to play "my college is better than yours" but I don't believe for a second AirTran and Spirit will be hiring 500 hour wonders out of college when they've got stacks of resumes from pilots with turbine PIC.

From ERAU, a member of the training staff from AirTran came to my aircraft performance class and said that they want to create a program with ERAU where they are going to hire 20 or so students in their junior year. These students will be doing some training in a simulator (something like the CRJ that we have here now). Then these students will pass as F/Os with WHAT EVER HOURS THEY HAVE.

This was briefed by an AirTran representative in my class.

note: The problem with this program is that AirTran wants ERAU to pay for the installation of the whatever sim they are going to use in the school.-----Which I dont think is going to happen.
