Default Restricted ATP

I am trying to clear up some confusion as to what may or may not qualify for the R-ATP.

I did my training, especially my commercial single and multi at a Part 141 School. I later then got my aviation degree from UVU. UVU accepted my licenses as credit for my degree. It is a B.S. Professional Pilot. The school is in the following list:

https://www.faa.gov/pilots/training/...ority_List.pdf

but I have heard the following. Since my training was not concurrent with getting my degree, rather done afterwards, it doesn't count and I cannot receive my R-ATP.

If anyone can clear that up I would much appreciate it.

It's complicated but if you got your CPL from a different, non-university flight school then you are absolutely NOT eligible for the R-ATP.

Correct me if I'm wrong but one is also eligible for the Restricted-ATP if they have 1500 hours and are at least 21 years of age. The Restriction is lifted when they turn 23 years old.

Sounds like the OP is more concerned about whether they qualify for a Reduced hour Restricted ATP. Besides the hour reduction, I doubt many people out there care whether or not their ATP is restricted.

That is correct, but in this context he wanted the lower hours requirement. Given his history I assumed he was 23+

Thanks for clarifying, he sounds like a young college kid.

I got my flight training done at a Part 141 School, but got my Degree afterwards from a University that is listed in the LOA from the FAA and in an aviation Degree. The only issue, is that I received my Commercial before my degree, not concurrent with it. Which, it seems means I do not qualify for the R-ATP. Although both my flight school and college fit the regulations, timing was off so I am s.o.l. it seems, which does seem stupid.

Bunch of Delta pilots lost their pensions because the economy collapsed after the real estate market collapsed because a bunch of mortgage companies were giving credit to a bunch of people who weren't creditworthy because the Feds told them it was the socially responsible thing to do. That didn't make sense either.

Welcome to the real world.
