Default Can I be trained in Michigan or should I go i

Hi guys, I’m Italian but my girlfriend lives in Michigan , 40min from Detroit. I have been in Florida for a week visiting 6 flight schools and now I want to visit a couple of flight schools here in Michigan. Do you thing I should go in Florida avoiding any delays in flight training because of the weather ? Or should I find a good flight school close we she lives so we can start with a “normal” life together?

If you get your act together you can go from 0-CFI ( Instructor) in 6 months so spring-summer-fall and you’re done.
So it wouldn’t matter much really.
Just realize you’re going to be working and studying for 6 months pretty much non stop and you need a very understanding partner.

I agree with TiredSoul.

Having no distractions in FL would make FL a better choice, not even factoring in the weather

I went to the flight school I was supposed could be my future choice but unfortunately they are not ready to give M-1 visa for student, they are already working for this but I should wait for fall.
I think that now the best and fast option is to move in Florida for a “0-HERO and instructor ratings plus working for the school” that obviously I don’t dislike

Depending on where you are in FL the weather in the summer may slow you up more than you think. I lived in Tampa for a time and it seemed like every afternoon in the summer thunderstorms showed up. I figure that's not universally the case in the state, but just something to think about as you make your choice.

Overall, I'd choose FL over MI any day of the week.

I’m planning to go to Aviator college but also epic flight Academy interested me. Both in Florida because the DCT aviation in Michigan cannot give me any Visa, not yet. If someone knows the schools and could give me any advice with those schools or any other, it will help me a lot

I work for a school based in Michigan, but we are in South Florida. We rarely have non-flying days whereas they're down for days, potentially weeks at a time for weather.

The summer storms are somewhat predictable once you learn the pattern and they're usually fairly brief to the point that it doesn't significantly impact the days flying, so long as we plan around them. In the summers we try to fly earlier in the day, in the winters we fly later (because of low-lowish fog that likes to stick around).
