Part 141 PIC requirements.

I've been looking at 141 schools for my son and considering it vs 61 closer (and cheaper) to home. Not withstanding the cost savings, 61 has a big requirement for PIC, to get the Comm. As I read it, 141 decides things differently, 120 hr training (I assume beyond the PPL) with only 10 solo hours. So one requires 100 pic (total) while the other 10 for the addition of a Comm, am I missing anything here?

Another question relates to various schools, Multi vs single land Comm. To those who have done this, did you do a multi comm or a single land than add the ME? it seems like adding at the end would be cheaper but I get that more is better (regarding ME time and training). Any comments from recent students appreciated !
