Flight School Recommendations
I currently have a year left in the Army and I'm on a conquest to find a flight school (Part 141) with prestige for the best possible price. When I get out of the Army, I will have about 3 to 5 grand saved up and a G.I. Bill worth almost $40,000. The current schools I have been looking at are Delta Connection Academy, Flight Safety, Mazzei School of Aeronautics in Fresno, CA. If anyone has better insight of these schools, or recommends any other schools, that would be great. Thanks

I have no experience with any of these schools, but what I have learned here for the most part is to stay away from DCA. It's expensive and you get old planes and sub-par instruction. Flight Safety and ATP would be the 141 schools I'd look into, if you're into that whole 141 thing :p .

ATP is Part 61

Always...As far as I know?!!!

I would look into Ari Ben Aviator. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles but you have everything you need, you get done fast and get a job quick for a good price

Prestige= shiny advertising in this industry and nothing more. All that advertising is passed onto you in added costs. Your ratings don't say where they came from.
Find somewhere that you like, you can afford, and you can achieve your goals on your timeline. Three to five grand won't even buy you a private certificate anymore. |

Thats true, but its a start. Besides the G.I. Bill covers all flight training after PPL up to CFI. I just have to get the PPl out-of-pocket and I in the process of doing so. I will check out Ari Ben though. |
More accurately, the MGIB covers up to 60% of flight training after PPL, excluding hours in excess of an approved maximum. The out-of-pocket will add up to quite a bit, so shop around for bargains. As Pilotpip said, "prestige" is nonsense. No one cares where you got your ratings. The only people who speak of prestige in flight training are the ones trying to get your money.

I looked at Ari Ben Aviator and American Flyers. Both have the VA benefits, but the American Flyers in Orlando requires you to head over to Pompano for your multi. They're also about 10,000 dollars more for thier career program. Despite the fact that their 5 miles away, thats still to much, even with the VA benefits. I think I'll stick with Ari Ben.

Ari Ben is looking good to me to! I just checked out the site. Its seems that they don't beat around the bush and give you bullS*#t. Plus you log more multi-time than anything else. |
