The DA-20 has the suicide canopy and as far as I remember you can’t taxi with it open.
I’d use a laminated checklist as airscoop during taxi, yes I’ve lost one..
Plan your lessons, do low altitude stuff early in the day such as ground reference maneuvers and landings.
Do maneuvers such as steep turns and stalls at whichever altitude you find 65-70F.
Fortunately it’s a good climber even at speeds well above Vy so you can get some airflow through the vents.

DA40 driver here. We were doing our Maneuvers up at 10,500 today just to try and get some cooler air!

Love the DA40NG, but that canopy makes things unbearable on a hot day.

DA40 at least you can lock the canopy in the open position on the ground.

somebody shared this on an arrow page on FB, says it helps a lot, guess it depends if you have a cigarette lighter you trust, but I fly survey at the moment and I'm considering getting one...
