Military R-ATP with less than 750hrs mil
Hey guys,
Had a question about the R-ATP 750 hr requirement... it’s pretty simple... What if you’re a military aviator who gets out with less than 750hrs? Thanks |
You're right, it's pretty simple. You need to get more hours.

But I think what you're really asking... as long as you're a rated military aviator, it doesn't matter where you get the 750. So you can fly as a civilian and will be eligible for an R-ATP once you hit 750 hours total, any combination of mil + civ. Assuming you did not get your wings removed for cause by the mil, then you lose the mil R-ATP eligibility. |
What's your goal? How many hours? Planning on going to regionals? As long as you get your FW hours and end up with more than 750 you're fine. Doesn't have to be 750 mil hours, just graduate from military training and have >750 hours TT.

So this became a discussion. There’s a dude who voluntarily requested to stop flying and the debate was if he was still eligible for rATP. He didn’t lose his wings.

He had a human factors board... just had a lot going on personally. Def wasn’t best pilot, but never got in trouble. They recommended him to CO, who is allowing him to redes, which I think he wants, but he kept his wings. No FEB.
If there was a diagnosed medical issue, getting copies of it and a statement from the Flight surgeon’s office that he was medically cleared to return to those duties would be helpful if he’s still active. |
