Default Online Bachelors degree

Hi All

I was wondering about your thoughts about online bacherlor degree programs. I have been trying to finish my bachelors degree but, recently I was informed of a few more courses that I would need to get done extending the length of the program I am in and limting my job options. I have considered PHX online. Will I be looked down upon by majors airlines by having a degree from an online program versus what I am in now (Adult accelerated Bachelor program)? It is still a 4yr degree in Business Adminstration and PHX is very much an accredited school. It is becoming increasingly popular. Any input I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Chris

The only ones i've seen cost as much as going to a regular state school. And state schools are more credible. Most people don't look on them as favorably. Plus there is a lot to college besides studying. You learn more social skills, how to sell yourself (like for an interview), meet tons of people with your own interest.

I think an important delineation is: Accredited vs. Reputable. Not to pick on PHX, but is the online school to get a quality education or to fill a square?

That may be an important detail to a prospective airline.

Remember you'll never be appling for a job alone. So you need to try and get an edge on that faceless monkey trying to steal your future.

Thanks for all the replies. One other question is - I have a Bachelor Degree from overseas is there even a remote chance the Majors would accept that as having done a degree?

I would suggest having your International Bachelors degree evaluated by a NACES member organization: https://www.naces.org/members These organizations provide translation of transcript, GPA, major and annotate a US equivalency like "Regionally or Nationally accredited associates, bachelors, masters or doctoral degree".
https://www.wes.org/

Airlines, universities and employers may want your degree evaluated for "US equivalency" and you need to check with them to see which pathway/evaluator is accepted!

Additionally, If I held a foreign bachelors degree I would attempt getting accepted into an online US Masters degree program first before attempting another bachelors degree. Accreditation or Equivalency evaluation is very important! https://ope.ed.gov/dapip/#/home

No matter if you do your degree online or in a brick and mortar school, all the majors want is a degree from an accredited institution. It doesn't matter what you get it on, as long as you finish it. I think the only major that puts an emphasis on what type of degree you have is Delta, and yet, most of my past collegues there have degrees in fields completely unrelated to aviation.

Chris, I suggest checking out Western Governors University's online degree programs.
