Default Alien Flight Student Program

Hello! I am resident alien (green card) holder. It will take me at least 4 more years to apply for citizenship. Student pilots (non citizen) have to be approved by TSA for every step of the training (PPL, IFR, etc). It is rather lengthy process. While I can manage it in the course of my training I am not sure about the process/procedures once employed by the airlines. Is it still required to be approved by TSA for recurring training once ATP and employed by airline? Does anyone have personal experience with this?
Thank you.

Yes, you’ll still need to be “approved” for every training event that includes a sim. Other than making sure the information is up to date you shouldn’t have to initiate a training request as the Airline you’re with, will do this.

It’s fairly painless these days.

Thank you Kenny. Do you know if airlines are hesitant to hire just green card holders?
