Buying a plane for the purpose of saving money on training and time building is a risky tactic which can pay off. Typically you can sell it when you're done for about what you paid for it.
The gotcha is if you have a big unexpected maintenance expense it can cost $20-30K+
Could be worth it if you can afford to write a check like that.

yes i am, currently working on my instrument while working full time. I am am however doing it part 61. I fly on the weekends and at nights, all while juggling family and a newborn! I have a 2 year plan get finish all my ratings and hopefully make the jump to CFI.[/QUOTE]

Going for my first flight tomorrow. I have a ton of questions for them I hope the have good answers.
I've been debating lately if I should take some of my annuity out to pay for it.
