Default To transfer flight school or not

I'll be finishing my PPL shortly. My original plan was to finish everything at my current school, but I started thinking otherwise recently.

First, handful of students failed initial instrument checkride because this school doesn't teach timed approach. I heard there's something else in our training airplane that does not require timed approach. Is timed approach a very important thing to learn during instrument stage?

Second, majority of our training is done in a light sport aircraft all the way to CFI. I wonder if I'll be able to instruct in other planes like Cesna, Piper, and Cirrus if I do majority of training in a light sport aircraft.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Are you talking about a timed approach as in ATC gives you a time to leave the FAF or a timed approach as in you need to keep a timer to determine when you are at the MAP because those are two different things. You can flight instruct in any aircraft of the category and class with which you hold privileges on your certificate.

A poor pass rate and being limited to only light sport aircraft would be enough to make me at least shop around.

Where are you located? That will help us know if there are better options
