Best Schools to Instruct Daytona
Where are the best flight schools to instruct where you can fly 100 hours a month and fly newer equipment? Right now I am looking in Daytona. Does anyone know how many flight hours Embry Riddle instructors average per month or know anything about Epic Flight Training south of Daytona? I have my CFI, CFII, MEI so getting hired should not be a problem as long as the schools have the student load.

Embry is a hard place to get hired, very strict, epic I’ve heard u start off slow, and in good times it’s like 60-80 flight time, multi may help you, and also depend how hard you want to work. Also look at Pheonix East, or if you want to commute L3 Harris

Agreed riddle is hard to get in. I worked at epic and enjoyed it. They have changed a lot since I’ve worked there and heard it’s not the best place to be at as they are over staffed, but nonetheless they have good airplanes and you’ll never have a shortage of students. I know a couple other great schools around the area If you want to message me I’ll give you more details.

Epic in New Smyrna is a great flight school. No shortage of students when I was there. G1000 equipment, out of the Charlie, and with good progression to check pilot etc.
Riddle is good, great facilities, great management, and great equipment. The Sim facility is extremely well taken care of. Indoc in riddle is a bit extensive, and getting hired is difficult if you're not alumni. Also your flight hours might take a dump in the summer. They used to have a few airplanes you could rent out for 60 bucks wet, if you want to supplement your hours. A few other I can suggest. DeLand aviation in KDED is a great school. Good airplanes, good people, hit or miss on client load though. Massey Ranch has a few operations, which you could luck out with if you pick the right ones. The rest I can't speak of either due to lack of first hand experience or because mom always used to say "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". |
There is flight safety in Vero. Regarding student load, many of the schools are dealing with a COVID-19 fueled slowdown. Flight safety already had over hired, now this. I would guess L3 is in a similar situation.
