Thanks guys for everything. Have had a checkup with PCP and all seems good. AME visit schedule for 1st class 3 weeks out as these guys must stay busy. On the training front, flew the 172 for the first time today, it’s such a more enjoyable plane it seemed like. Also, changed flight schools and I can officially say I think it’s going to make a ton of difference. While it’s not a big flight school there is already major things I like about it over the independent CFI that had no direction in the training after the first couple lessons.

I don't think there is any benefit to looking at the attitude indicator for visual flight. The only exception is establishing the picture for bank angle on steep turns. Even then that is only a brief reference to start mostly. If you don't know what they want you to look at I'd ask.
You can use any checklist as long as it hits the elements needed in the POH, but there should be only one version of the checklist used for the aircraft type or it would be extremely confusing. When you say "printed out online" I'm assuming it's the school website and not a random copy of a checklist for that airplane, or that everyone at the school uses that version.
I hope you medical exam is successful.

I wouldn't sweat it unless you stopped waking up with morning wood(if you're a man) or you have a family history.

I agree with this. When I first started instructing, I wouldn't start instructing about landings until 5-6 lessons in. Now I typically end each lesson, from the beginning, with 2 landings around the pattern. I feel like they overall time to solo is much sooner. If they can better understand how the high altitude and ground reference stuff relates to "real world" flying, they pick it up a little faster.
