Default FAA Wings Program

I'm registered just to see what it is all about. I look to see what some of the requirements are and for example the advanced phase it says I need to have passed a commercial practical test after the date of my last bfr...but i already have my commercial...what gives? also there are 5 parts of the commercial practical on the wings program? any hints?

Thanks

Oldveedubs,

It is my impression that you have to start at the basic and work your way to the advance level, similar to the old Wings program of different levels (20 levels total). You have one year to complete each “step” from the time of your last BFR and can only complete one a year…so to get to advance it will take three years. I was on the site the other day and knocked out all the academics I could, only enough to fill the basic level and one of the next step…there were no more to take at this time. It is a new program and I can expect more academics to show up as the year goes on.

I understand the building block. Maybe you are correct about waiting to see if there will be more curriculum. I too knocked out all the knowledge stuff for basic...and the only available option for advanced is your commercial certificate...who knows.

I talked to the FSDO not to long ago but didn't get into direct questions about the new wings prgoram. I would think that your BFR would be to the standards of your current rating. I don't know if that is correct or not because I haven't flown civilian lately until recently knocking out my ATP flight check.
