Default Sporty's vs King Schools

Starting ATP school in 2 months. I am looking to supplement my studies and help with the written exams before starting. I am trying to decide between Sporty's and King's online classes to help. What are the pros and cons of both?Which would you choose?

You can start here.

I used Sporty’s to study for my PPL written before I even started flight school. I thought it was ok, I mean I passed, so…. FFWD to starting flight school and having to do the King’s School curriculum for ground and I can now say definitively that I much prefer Sporty’s. The quality and modern feel of the videos make them more engaging. Better UI as well with Sporty’s. I used them to pass my Instrument written (IRA and FII) and now studying for commercial. I still have to do the King School ground to satisfy my flight school but I’ll continue on with Sporty’s on my own.

I'll second this. I used Sporty's for PPL and thought it was super cheesy. I moved to a new school and they used King's for IRA and Commercial, and I thought they were even more cheesy. I liked the presentation of Sporty's a little bit better, but the Kings kind of grew on me after awhile, even though I hate Dad jokes (if you decide to go with them you'll see what I mean). Ultimately I learned a lot from both and would say you can't go wrong with either.

I went with Sporty’s for their 3D flight instructional vids whereas Kings uses some very outdated material. Check out some content from both on YouTube and you’ll see what I mean. Both can prep you well but choose the one that best fits your learning style.

I definitely would prefer sporty’s! The videos are really nice and well explained. I’m a newer pilot but I think it’s really helped me understand things better. I’ve heard from friends that king schools is good, but I think Sporty’s explains things really well.

King is the most cringeworthy by a country mile.
Its presents material like you’re a 4 year old with a learning disorder.
Go to the FAA website and download all training manuals FOR FREE.
Start reading and reading then do some more reading.
Care to share why you choose ATP?
