What's up with this weather?

I know I'm bitching a lot, but what's up with the weather in Texas? I got a chance to finally fly yesterday in 4 weeks. I was suppose to do my cross country, but we just did a local flight. This is really starting to **** me off. I can only fly on weekends because of my work (military), and ofcourse it's bad weather on weekends.

It's been great flying weather everywhere other than Texas.

I'm in Dallas and I know exactly what you mean. Luckily the guys I'm flying w/ right now are mostly instrument rated so we can just file and go do our work. It seems like the only break has been in the evenings after one system has pushed through and before the next one moves in. Morning and early afternoon your hosed. You will really appreciate your IRA when you get it.

Texas is where Gulf of Mexico air masses meet cooler-dryer Pacific air masses. It sets off a bunch of thunderstorms and results in a lot of bad weather around there. If they are more opposite in temp and moisture than usual there is a lot of bad weather in Texas, otherwise it all goes east.

Thats why I'm gonna move to SLC and fly a Brasilia:)

It's my fault. Every time I'm in Dallas I bring the weather with me. :P

Then hurry up and leave. :D

If it keeps raining here much longer we're all going to need seaplane ratings. I heard somewhere that we've received more rain in the last few months than Seattle receives all year, or at least something along those lines. One of those "he said she said" things.
