Here's a question, pertaining to IPC's and stuff:

So I got my CFI-I in March, then I got my CFI-A in June (Backwards, I know, that's Embry-Riddle for you). I found out today that the CFI-A does not count as a BFR, which makes sense considering the fact that the BFR is for my commercial license, seperate from my CFI-A license. What's concerning me now is does the CFI-I checkride count towards an IPC? If so, would I had to have the check airman sign my logbook for an IPC?

Any approaches and HIT that you did on the CFII ride would count for IFR currency, if you were with 12 months of currency.

If you were outside of 12 months, then an IPC would be required. The CFII ride does not automatically count for an IPC or BFR unless you got a seperate endorsement.

Pilot certificate checkrides automatically count as BFR's: Private, IR, COMM, ATP.

Instructor rides DO NOT count as BFRs. Thue should, but the FARs are worded funny on that. However anytime you take an instructor ride, you should get the examiner to give you a BFR endorsement, just to restart your clock...it's simply a matter of reminding them to do it.

Went back and reresearched... I corrected my info from the previous post regarding BFR.

Here's the FAA interpretation:
