Default ATP Atlanta

I am thinking about going to ATP in atl for the cfi program. I did a quick search, and I didn't see any comments about atl. I am wondering, if you went through it, how was the atl location? I would go to vegas, since its closer to me, but they are super busy and have a long waiting list...
Any comments on atl would be nice. How the ride / fsdo is, where you stayed, instructors, etc..

Thanks.

be weary of the ATP CFI program unless you plan on working at ATP. ofcourse with the shortage of CFI's it might be a little different now, but many school don't like to hire CFI's from ATP because the program is just too quick and many schools think you can't possible learn what you need in 14 days or whatever it is.

I agree with what you are saying, IMO, I am aware that if you go to ATP you will NOT walk out of there after two weeks being a super solid cfi cfii or mei. But, my local flight school has offered me a job as a cfi, and I need to get it done so I can start learning and flying...
Thanks...
Anyone, any info on atl?

I'm a student at ATP and I've heard that ATL is one of the best out of the locations they offer the CFI.

As far as people not hiring ATP cfi's....well, take it with a grain of salt. Some do, some don't. You get out of the program what you put in.

Good luck!

I am headed to CFI school in Jax in a few weeks.

No one has mentioned that they do not accept people to their CFI program who are not also intending to work for them as a CFI after getting their ticket(s). If they accepted such people I would have been a customer for the one week CFI program in Atlanta, but they told me sorry only job seekers with AllATPs need apply. The problem is they cannot afford to waste time with transient CFI trainees in the current CFI-shortage environment.

That is very interesting, they make no mention of that on the phone.

Just got off the phone with them, talk about a huge load of BS, now they tell me after being ran around with them on starting dates that it is only available to the CFIs who want to instruct for them. They must be hiring a bangload of instructors for all of their CFI locations to be slammed until oct., AND them turning people down for the training.
He I could do the CFI program if I wanted to work for them, and he also said there is no contract working for them. It would be interested to see how many people enroll in their program to "work for them" then ditch their company right after they get their ratings...
Not very nice, but it prolly will happen.
I guess I need to shop somewhere else for my ratings, anyone have ANY ideas?....and no Sheble, been there, done that.

...Thanks for the heads-up cubdriver.

If your local flight school has already offered you a job as a flight instructor before you're even qualified, why not go there for the training?

No Sheble...haha. That's what I was going to mention. I had a friend do his CFI there, maybe four years ago now, though. He was happy enough with it. When he went to Amflight, he was quickly moved into training other pilots, whatever that's worth.

The instructors and airplanes are so busy, it would take way longer then two weeks for just an initial. There are a few guys in there just getting ready to take their CFI ride and have been working on it for several months. I would just like to go somewhere for few weeks and just be there to focus on getting a CFI, and then come back and get the addons with my flight school.
We will see.

I did my commercial finish up at Sheble, nice people, the ride wasn't a gimmie, he went through the whole PTS book like he should. Had Joe do the ride, and I had Joe Sr. sign me off, Sr. is a funny guy.
