Should I use a new logbook??
I only have about 22 hours in my logbook, but the last time I logged time in it was approx 2 1/2 years ago. I'm about to start flight training at the college I'm attending and was wondering should I use a new logbook (the previous one is from a Cessna Pilot Center) or just keep using my current one and continue from where I left off.
Thanks |
It sure doesn't matter. I'd personally use the previous one until it was filled out.

Hi!
If you want to fly professionally, at an organization that will be collecting your info over the internet (like a 121 carrier) start and electronic logbook immediately. I reccoment LogBookPro. It's not perfect, but it's good. Good Luck! cliff ILN |
Buy a professional logbook

I did go out and buy a Jeppesen (spelling?) logbook but asked one of my flight class teachers if I should continue in my logbook or use this new one. He told me to just continue using the logbook I have but I will keep the Jeppesen one.

I used paper logs for my first 3 logbooks. I recommend going electronic in the future because it will make your life easier when applying for future jobs. I would stick with paper until you finish all your ratings so your endorsements are all in one place. I had 3 interviews with majors and the electronic format was not an issue, but always bring your originals. I printed it out and had it bound at Kinko's.

Go electronic, I use Safelog, paper logbooks get lost, distroyed, damaged, etc. Plus math errors, breaking down flight times are a pain with paper. With a electronic logbook, math errors are eliminated, multiple copies are a piece of cake, and breaking down flight times for job interviews are a breeze.
