Default Ft. Lauderdale Flight Schools

I'm looking at 2 in the Lauderdale area: Professional Flight Training and Airborne Systems.

Anyone had any experience with either of them?

Thanks...

PFT, I heard the owners really just want your money. Their aircraft are old and the school is over priced. They are building a new FBO next door, which takes money, so the price may increase. I do know some people that have got their training from them ans seem to be generally satisfied. No personal experience though.

Airborne Ive heard very little, but all good. PFT seems more structured though. Again, no personal experience.

Default No to PFT

While down in Fort Lauderdale for flight training I needed to finish my Mult Comm. and was sent to PFT. Well to make a long story short they are over priced for what they offer for quality of aircraft and its only going to get worse due to them building a new FBO. If I was you I would keep looking

I don't know much about either of those flight schools. I do know that American Flyers is located at Pompano Airport and ATP is located at FXE.

Personally, I had looked into both and have decided on ATP for the Private Pilot program in Daytona and the ACPP in JAX. Tomorrow, 9/18/07, I go for my 1st Class medical and discovery flight; both of which are prerequisites for the Private Pilot program.

A lot of flight schools participate in this program. The flight schools that I know of that do it, do it for honorable reasons. A lot of the times their reasoning is if you have airline aspirations you need to know now if you can pass a 1st class physical. This is opposed to spending all that time and money going all the way through all of your ratings and then being denied a 1st class. I know this is a long shot but I guess its happened out here before or they wouldn't have enacted the policy.
